The Hyderabad Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has a 150 mld capacity (Phase IV) plant at Peddapur Village (60 km from Hyderabad). The plant is constructed in the year 1970. The raw water source to the plant is reservoir, from which the water is conveyed to the plant by gravity.
After the treatment, the pure water is pumped to the city. The treatment plant consists of a Receiving Chamber, Parshall Flume, Flash Mixers (2 no), Clariflocculators (3 no), Rapid sand gravity filter beds (12 no), Chemical House, Filtered water storage reservoir and a Finished water Pump House.
