Augmentation of the Nasik Road Plant of M.W.S.S.B. From 8 MLD to 30 MLD

This water treatment plant supplies drinking water to Nasik Road Township. The first plant in this complex was constructed in the year 1920. It consisted of three plain sedimentation tanks followed by three slow sand filters. All the tanks were of mild steel construction. In the year 1955, a conventional plant of 8.18 MLD capacities was added to the complex. It consisted of one clariflocculator and three rapid sand gravity filters. These units were constructed in RCC. In the year 1970, the total demand increased to 26.26 MLD. The Maharashtra Water Supply & Sewerage Board, then owner of the utility decided to augment the treatment capacity by modifying and retrofitting the existing plants.
